DPChallenge: Diamond Day

The most precious of gemstones are currently being formed right now.  From deep in the earth, carbon atoms are being squeezed with unfathomable pressure and heat to create one of the most beautiful objects in the world.  After a diamond is precisely cut and polished to release it’s inner beauty, it is a marvel of nature.

Diamond Day should be a holiday in which one should give a diamond as a gift to someone they love.  A natural diamond is the perfect symbol of love.  It is eternal, unchanging, and beautiful to the eye. It is also rare and virtually indestructible.  Isn’t that the definition of love?

It does not matter about the size, the quality, or the value.  When given as a gift, each glance at a diamond will evoke the memory of the giver.

  1. I’m really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.

  2. Awesome idea! The comparison of diamonds to love is really neat, and you could have added that it takes some tlc vis-a-vis reshaping to bring out it’s natural luster. Good relationships tend to do the same, both people chipping away at the surface of each other until discovering that light that shines from within and learning to glow together (hahaha, I made a punny).

Oh yeah, and thanks for stopping by my blog! Hope your days sparkles as brilliantly as your ideas!

  3. I can imagine Diamond Day as a day where people are out hunting for diamonds…haha.
Well, your comparison of diamonds to love does have a point.

  4. I feel very lucky my partner made sure the engagement ring encompassed my birthday stone which is encrusted with three diamonds around the side, whilst our wedding bands are made of Palladium with a wish bone look and mine is encrusted with diamonds in the cross over again. As you said when the sun catches them they look amazing and I feel very loved and lucky to have my husband in my life.

  5. I got a diamond chip in a ring for my third wedding anniversary. It always meant a lot to me even though I didn’t get it on my wedding day. Unfortunately, the stone fell out last year and was lost. My finger where the ring used to sit still looks naked. I look forward to having it replaced on a future diamond day!

  6. I think this is a really good idea. Although I’m not old enough to actually be in a relationship to that level, I think it would really show some passion and care to someone’s partner.
